Program: The Adult Treatment Court program is a collaborative effort of the Weld County Courts, Weld Probation, other community agencies with therapists and peer specialists from North Range. Participants accept a probation sentence to ATC for a period of up to 2 years in place of a DOC or ComCor sentence if successful. While receiving treatment participants learn to make and sustain life changes to maintain long term recovery. The goal of the program is to help participants to become positive active members of the community while addressing substance use disorders, mental illness, and life skills issues.

Position Summary:  Provide a supportive environment to help clients identify their own goals toward recovery and/or resiliency.  Teach skills to work toward the client's self-identified life goals (social, educational, housing, benefits, illness management, etc.). Use unique personal experience to engage clients in a peer-to-peer capacity.  Provide on-going appraisal of client and family situation. Secure resources and services for clients with mild to severe mental illness, disorders and disabilities. Coordinate with internal as well as external supportive resources to deliver needed services to clients.  Collaborate with treatment team members regarding services in response to treatment plan. 

Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Credentials:
-  High School Diploma or GED and/or ability to successfully demonstrate reading, writing, and speaking skills
-  Associates degree and/or further schooling in related field, preferred
-  Successful completion of peer-to-peer training that meets core competency standards as specified by the agency highly desired (i.e. State Core Competencies)
-  Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
-  Valid Colorado driver's license and driving record that meets with agency insurability as set forth for someone that must transport clients/program participants

Experience:
-  Must have personal experience by having a successful return home of children following a Dependency and Neglect case with DHS and have been impacted by substance abuse issues, mental illness, other co-occurring challenges, associated with the recovery/peer support movement, or in recovery and/or demonstrated resiliency, personally, for at least one year.
-  Must be 1-year free of drugs and/or alcohol.
-  Must be 1-year since completion of treatment.
-  Must be able to demonstrate working a recovery program.
-  Experience with Treatment Court or a graduate of a Treatment Court program
-  Motivated to support others in the recovery process
-  Have successfully completed Substance Use Disorder treatment
-  No current or recent legal involvement
-  Ability to take additional peer-to-peer training as required by the job.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
-  Substance Use Disorder, mild to severe mental illness, loss/grief, other disorders and/or disabilities and the recovery/resiliency process.
-  Basic and routine computer programs and software.
-  Basic and routine records maintenance and filing practices. 
-  Basic and routine office management practices and operating procedures.
-  Workplace policies and professionalism.
-  Organizational structure, workflow and operating procedures.
-  Effective de-escalation techniques.
-  Motivational interviewing and motivational stages.
-  Maintain basic record keeping systems and procedures.
-  Read and interpret treatment/care plan instructions and recommendations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
-  Effectively and positively communicate, including under emotionally charged and stressful situations, both orally and in writing with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.
-  Work as a team member, maintain effective working relationships, and foster a positive and cooperative work environment.
-  Teach and demonstrate life skills that assist clients in their recovery/resiliency or movement toward increased independence.
-  Learn, teach, and implement evidence-based practice material and curriculum, as appropriate for specified program(s).
-  Demonstrated organization, time management and prioritizing skills.
-  Manage relationships in a constructive and positive manner.
-  Follow-up and follow through skills.
-  Plan, organize and execute multiple tasks and assignments.
-  Perform tasks with a focus on exemplary customer service.

Responsibilities:
-  Provide services for clients as assigned by Administrative/Clinical Supervisor.
-  Use personal experience to model the value of every client's experience and to teach effective coping techniques and self-help strategies that lead to recovery and/or resiliency. Offer clients hope regarding recovery/resiliency, through appropriate self-disclosure, role modeling and coaching during the recovery process and/or development of resiliency.
-  Collaborate with therapists and other team members to coordinate services in response to the client needs and behaviors to achieve goals of service/treatment plan; prevent deterioration, and or hospitalization. May be called upon for appraisal of client needs to make appropriate recommendations for services.
-  Coordinate a wide variety of services for clients to receive benefits (i.e. housing, social security, etc.) from internal and external service providers. May help identify client's needs and provide access to services.
-  Assist clients to identify barriers to recovery/resiliency and individual warning signs; help cultivate positive behaviors to prevent relapse, avoid future crisis involvement, and focus on wellness.
-  Assist clients in improving their well-being and quality of life by coaching in behavioral skills; educate clients to make informed choices; help the client problem solve and negotiate tasks of daily living. May provide a listening ear to clients when needed.
-  Provide assistance and coaching to clients with daily life activities such as maintaining stable housing, managing finances, creating a budget, completing applications for services, and other needs.
-  Teach and role model the importance of medication monitoring, clear communication with medical and mental health providers, and developing a wellness, recovery/resiliency plan (i.e. SAMHSA, Psychiatric Advance Directive, crisis plan, etc.).
-  Provide support and encouragement to the client and/or their family members.
-  Advocate for the client in many different forums including the school system, nursing homes, and with family. 
-  Lead and facilitate social/recreational activities, support groups and/or consumer-run groups.
-  Document progress reports, mentoring notes, letters, faxes, and phone calls.
-  Maintain close and cooperative relationships with community agencies.
-  May be called upon to translate in situations where client is mono-lingual.
-  May transport clients to and from various appointments, usually with another staff member.
-  Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
May involve travel to offsite locations for provision of services. Work hours can vary and may require some on-call scheduling including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Compensation:
