North Range DOES NOT accept students for Practicum placement only. You must also commit to completing your internship requirements with the same program to be considered for practicum placement. For clinical graduate placements, we place students for two (2) consecutive semesters, in the best interest of our clientele.

Placement Availability, Position #, and Program Information:
Counseling Center at Carbon Valley
-  Bachelor level for Winter/Spring; # 3362 - Paying $15.00/hour if University allows students to accept paid internships.

The Carbon Valley office in Frederick, CO offers an array of culturally competent outpatient behavioral health services to all ages and populations. The program is staffed by therapists who have diverse backgrounds and the ability to work with a wide range of people who have mental and substance use disorders.

Crisis Resilience Center

With the expansion of services in the southern region of Weld county, North Range Behavioral Health is dedicated to providing quality care and assessments to individuals and families who are in need of crisis intervention. In addition to housing crisis walk-in services and mobile crisis services, we will eventually be creating a 23-hour observation program.  Additionally, part of this expansion is the development of the "living room" model and expanding our work with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. The specially trained staff oversees emergency walk-in services and crisis calls for the Weld County area. Consumers can expect to have a thorough assessment of their needs and situation upon contacting our staff who assists in determining what level of care would most benefit the individual in the least restrictive setting.

Student Engagement May Include:
-  Assist facility staff to facilitate client participation in their care plan by interaction with them as a source of emotional support, resource problem solving, and advocating for their needs.
-  Participate in house/community meetings and engage clients in discussion.
-  Assist in the client admission process including orientation, training, and other activities to maximize clients' positive adjustment to the milieu setting.
-  Participate in the delivery of group care activities.
-  Assist with meal service and participate with clients during the meal time and assist with client wellness checks and breaks.

Minimum Qualifications:
-  Student must be currently enrolled in a Master level program, relevant to placement, at an accredited university or college
-  Be in good standing with the university/college
-  Must successfully complete a background check and drug screen 

Additional Eligibility requirements, as required by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE):
-  Annual Flu Vaccine
-  COVID-19 Vaccine
-  Annual TB testing may be required
